- The Plan provides income continuation to Nova Scotia’s public sector employees who become disabled. In 2009 the number of Plan members increased from 13,000 to 13,135 members
- The Plan offers high quality claims administration services and continues to review and implement emerging alternatives in disability management that are of mutual benefit to Plan members and the Plan
- All government employees have access to additional support while on short-term illness leave
- The Short-Term Illness Return to Work Program provides support for anyone who is away from work due to illness. It’s voluntary and focuses on the safe and timely return of employees to work, when they are ready to do so
- The Plan represents a large number of employers in Nova Scotia and is an industry leader in providing income continuation services for public sector employees throughout Nova Scotia
- The Plan is thoughtfully designed, based on a comprehensive review of other plans, to meet the real needs of its members. In 2009, the Plan paid benefits of $11,353,599
