Appeal Guidelines
When the Claims Administrator has ruled that a member is not eligible for benefits under the LTD Plan, the member can appeal the decision through the Board of Trustees of the NSPS LTD Plan.
This right of review / appeal is the only right of appeal, as appeal through the courts is excluded by the appeal provision in the plan document (sections 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3). Appeals are limited to determining whether or not the employee is disabled as defined in the Plan Document and the resulting decision shall be final and not subject to further review.
