Linda Power, Chair - In December 2010, Ms. Power was jointly appointed by the NSGEU and the Province as Chair of the Board under the trust agreement. Prior to being appointed as Chair of the Board, she held the position of Executive Director with the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU) from 2003 to 2009. Her responsibilities were the management of the staff of NSGEU, the administration of the day to day affairs of the union and the negotiation of collective agreements, resolving labour disputes, maintaining on-going positive, professional relationships with government officials and employers, supporting the President in the performance of her duties including the preparation of matters on the agenda of the Executive and the Board of Directors and coordinating the implementation of decisions. She was also responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating programs and policies. Prior to her role as Executive Director, from 1999 to 2003, other roles included Health Care Servicing Coordinator, Trustee on the Public Service Long Term Disability Board of Trustees, and Employee Relations Officer. |

Gareth Drinnan - Mr Drinnan was appointed to the Board in January 2005, as a union trustee representing the Highway Workers' Union (Local 1867 CUPE). He is currently president of the Union. He is a Baseperson at the Baddeck Depot of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. Active in the union movement for many years, Mr Drinnan is a member of the Government Master Committee on Health Safety and is also a member of the Government Diversity Round Table Committee. He has attended numerous labour schools sponsored by CUPE and the Canadian Labour Congress as well as numerous training conferences related to Governance. |

Karen Fitzner - Ms. Fitzner was appointed to the Board in April 2010 as an Employer Trustee. She is a graduate of Saint Mary's University and Dalhousie Law School and was in the private practice of law in Halifax for fifteen years before joining the Department of Justice in 2005. Between 2006 and 2009 Ms Fitzner was seconded to the Public Service Commission as the Director of Employee Relations. She currently holds the position of senior solicitor at the Department of Justice. |

S. Jane Fraser - Ms. Fraser was appointed to the Board in January 2005 as an Employer Trustee. She is a graduate of Saint Mary's University and Dalhousie University and is a Certified General Accountant. She has been an employee of the Province for fifteen years and is the Director of Financial Services, Transportation & Public Works. |

Robin MacLean - Ms. MacLean was appointed to the Board as a Union Trustee in 2004. She graduated from Dalhousie Law School and has worked at the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union since 1999 and is currently the Director of Negotiations and Servicing for the Union. Prior to working at the NSGEU, she was employed at the Worker's Compensation Board as a Hearing Officer. |

Kathryn MacNeil - Ms. MacNeil was appointed to the Board in August of 2009 as an Employer Trustee representing the Capital District Health Authority (Capital Health). She currently holds the position of Vice-President People. |

Neil McNeil - Mr. McNeil was appointed to the Board in October of 2009 as a Union Trustee. He currently holds the position as NSGEU Healthcare Servicing Coordinator. |

Darren McPhee - Mr. McPhee was appointed to the Board in January 2007 as a Union Trustee. He is a graduate of Saint Mary's University, twice, holding a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Criminology. Since 1992, he has been working with the Department of Community Services and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Mr. McPhee is currently the Secretary/Treasurer for The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU). He has held this elected position for the past four consecutive terms. |

Cathy Rankin - Ms. Rankin was appointed to the Board in January 2006 as an Employer Trustee. She is currently Benefits Manager with the Nova Scotia Public Service Commission. Prior to joining the Province, she was a benefit consultant with a national consulting firm. Ms Rankin is a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University and is currently a member of the Atlantic Regional Council of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute. |

Peter Urbanc - Mr. Urbanc was appointed to the Board in January 2011 as an Employer Trustee. He is Executive Director of Liability Management and Treasury Services at the Nova Scotia Department of Finance where he oversees the Province's debt portfolio, cash management, banking, short and long-term borrowing and investments. Prior to joining the Province, Mr. Urbanc's 18-year investment banking career spanned Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, bond underwriting, liability management, derivatives and investments. Mr. Urbanc holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from McGill University and an MBA from Northwestern University (Chicago). |

Grant Vaughan - Mr Vaughan was appointed to the Board as a union trustee in 1996. He is employed by the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union as an employee relations officer. |
