George L. Fox
George L. Fox, Chair-In April 2007 Mr. Fox was jointly appointed by the NSGEU and the Province as Chair of the Board under the trust agreement. Following graduation from the Bachelor of Commerce program, Dalhousie University, he pursued an extensive career in corporate governance with the NS Public Service leading strategic initiatives prior to his retirement in 2001. He led negotiations to establish the LTD Plan in 1985 as the Province's Chief Negotiator in collective bargaining and for a number of years sat as an employer representative on the Long Term Disability Board of Trustees. His leadership roles in the Human Resource and Labour Relations field include many negotiations and facilitation initiatives, often brokering and building consensus between employers and employees, managers and unions. As Deputy Minister of the Departments of Environment and Labour, among other responsibilities he oversaw provincial programs in occupational health and safety, the OHS appeal panel, public safety, injured workers' advisory and labour-management mediation/conciliation services. Other roles include Chair of the Skills NS Task Force and Deputy Ministers' Steering Committee on Restructuring, and a broad Human Resource background with the NS Department of Human Resources (now the NS Public Service Commission) as Director of Corporate Services and Staff Relations.

Gareth Drinnan Jane Allt - Ms. Allt was appointed to the Board in March 2007 as an Employer Trustee.  She currently holds the position of Director, Strategic Support Services with the Public Service Commission.

Gareth Drinnan Gareth Drinnan - Mr Drinnan was appointed to the Board in January 2005, as a union trustee representing the Highway Workers' Union (Local 1867 CUPE). He is currently president of the Union. He is a Baseperson at the Baddeck Depot of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. Active in the union movement for many years, Mr Drinnan is a member of the Government Master Committee on Health Safety and is also a member of the Government Diversity Round Table Committee. He has attended numerous labour schools sponsored by CUPE and the Canadian Labour Congress as well as numerous training conferences related to Governance.

Jane Fraser S. Jane Fraser - Ms. Fraser was appointed to the Board in January 2005 as an Employer Trustee. She is a graduate of Saint Mary's University and Dalhousie University and is a Certified General Accountant. She has been an employee of the Province for fifteen years and is the Director of Financial Services, Transportation & Public Works.

William Lahey William Lahey - Mr. Lahey is a graduate of Mount Allison University and of Oxford University (B.A., Jurisprudence) and of the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto (LL.M.). After clerking with Mr. Justice La Forest of the Supreme Court of Canada and three years in private practice, he became a member of the N.S. Department of Justice. He later served as Director of Corporate Services, N.S. Department of Human Resources and as Assistant Deputy Minister, N.S. Department of Health. In 2001, he became Assistant Professor, Dalhousie Law School. Between 2004 and 2007, he was Deputy Minister, N.S. Department of Environment and Labour, on leave from Dalhousie Law School. He is currently the Director of the Dalhousie Health Law Institute, Dalhousie Law School. He has been awarded the Dalhousie Law Students' Society and Alumni Excellence in Teaching Award (for teaching in upper year courses) and the Dalhousie Law School Hannah and Harold Barnet Award for Excellence in Teaching First Year Law. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.

Robin McLean Robin MacLean - Ms. MacLean was appointed to the Board as a Union Trustee in 2004. She graduated from Dalhousie Law School and has worked at the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union since 1999 and is currently the Director of Negotiations and Servicing for the Union. Prior to working at the NSGEU, she was employed at the Worker's Compensation Board as a Hearing Officer.

Kathryn MacNeil - Ms. MacNeil was appointed to the Board in August of 2009 as an Employer Trustee representing the Capital District Health Authority (Capital Health). She currently holds the position of Vice-President People.

Neil McNeil - Mr. McNeil was appointed to the Board in October of 2009 as a Union Trustee. He currently holds the position as NSGEU Healthcare Servicing Coordinator.

Darren McPhee - Mr. McPhee was appointed to the Board in January 2007 as a Union Trustee. He is a graduate of Saint Mary's University, twice, holding a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Criminology. Since 1992, he has been working with the Department of Community Services and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Mr. McPhee is currently the Secretary/Treasurer for The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU). He has held this elected position for the past four consecutive terms.

Cathy Rankin  Cathy Rankin - Ms. Rankin was appointed to the Board in January 2006 as an Employer Trustee. She is currently Benefits Manager with the Nova Scotia Public Service Commission. Prior to joining the Province, she was a benefit consultant with a national consulting firm. Ms Rankin is a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University and is currently a member of the Atlantic Regional Council of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute.

Grant Vaughan Grant Vaughan - Mr Vaughan was appointed to the Board as a union trustee in 1996. He is employed by the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union as an employee relations officer.
