Rehabilitation
Members receiving LTD benefits may be required to
participate in a vocational rehabilitation plan recommended and approved by the
Claims Administrator. The Claims Administrator will assess a member's
diagnosis, prognosis, limitations and restrictions before approving a
rehabilitation plan.
A vocational rehabilitation plan may involve:
(a) Return to same occupation, same employer;
(b) Return to modified occupation, same employer;
(c) Return to different occupation, same employer;
(d) Return to different occupation, different employer; or
(e) Self employment.
Plan members are encouraged to play an active role in their rehabilitation by identifying and discussing options, and by actively
participating in any approved rehabilitation plan.
