TRUST AGREEMENT

The legal basis for the Fund is an Agreement and Declaration of Trust between the Province and the NSGEU (the Plan Sponsors):

The Plan's Trust Agreement provides for the appointment of 11 trustees.

Five trustees are appointed by the Province through the Lieutenant Governor in Council, one of whom is designated by the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Five trustees are appointed by the NSGEU, one of whom is designated by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
The Plan Sponsors jointly appoint an independent chair.
